Mech is able to calculate and prepare plans for highway, railway and pedestrian bridges of various superstructure types: truss, box or I girder (steel or steel-concrete composite), orthotropic deck, suspension, arch, cable.


We carefully address:

    • Joints, welding, fatigue strength

    • Assembly sequence starting in the early planning stage

    • Extreme care in evaluating problems of heat, earthquake or wind (vortex shedding, galloping, divergence, flutter)

    • Support bearings and substructure in general

    • Local design practice



Mech collaborates with specialists on unique bridges which require special consideration. For example, the in-plane instability for this arch bridge was ascertained in conjunction with Professor Yabuki of Okinawa University (Japan).
