When the various pavilions of Paris’ market, built buy Baltrad in 1854, became no more able to satisfy the growing needs of the city, the activities were moved to Rungis and in their place the Pompidou Centre and the Forum were built.
Since it was thought to be important to preserve some of past architectonical examples, one of the market’s pavilions was dismantled and moved to Nogent-sur-Marne, where it has been simply rebuilt. It now houses cultural activities.
